Vacancies: Parliamentary and Policy Officer; Research Officer

The Coalition for Racial Equality and Rights works to eliminate racial discrimination and harassment and to promote racial justice across Scotland. We are looking for two outstanding candidates to support the work of our policy team.

Parliamentary and Policy Officer
 

£29,229 p.a. (plus 8% pension contribution)

Key duties include undertaking effective policy analysis and producing briefings on policy and parliamentary developments, especially as they relate to racial equality, community cohesion and the application of human rights in Scotland.

The successful candidate will have an excellent knowledge of equality issues and legislation, excellent political awareness and experience of previous work in informing public policy or in campaigning. Most importantly, you will have the desire and ability to make a real improvement to racial equality issues in Scotland.

Research Officer
 

£29,229 p.a. (plus 8% pension contribution) 

 

Using your lived experience of racial inequalities, key duties will include undertaking research to gather, analyse and interpret national and local data, identifying evidence based means of challenging and influencing policy and producing high quality briefing papers on race equality related issues. 

 

The successful candidate will have outstanding research and analytical skills, knowledge of equality issues (particularly regarding race and racism) and previous research experience. This can be paid or unpaid experience. Most importantly, you will have the desire and ability to make a real improvement to racial equality issues in Scotland.
